With roots in construction software and project management, the family decided to channel their expertise into creating an intimate sanctuary that marries understated luxury with the warmth of a family atmosphere. The result is the first-ever Relais & Châteaux property in Tanzania—a testament to their commitment to excellence, sustainability, and authentic hospitality.To this day, the family remains personally involved in operations, ensuring every guest’s experience is as unforgettable as the vision that inspired this journey.

We also carefully source antique pieces and designs inspired by traditional art. You can admire two authentic Zanzibari doors at our Doors to Zanzibar restaurant, standing as true symbols of the island’s rich artisanal heritage.
